You ever up in ANC in the afternoon (usually)? There is a guy on approach that uses tree and fife, etc.
I had never heard this before, until I read an article in AOPA making fun of this. We tried to respond professionally using tree and fife, and lost it in mid-tranmission.
I can hear it in the other aircraft's transmission that nearly everyone is equally amused.
THe AIM prints proper phraseology. The majority of people I know use practical phraseology, i.e. short and sweet.
I think this parallels the industry and the FAA. WHat's practical vs. what's proper.
