The rule isnt the smaller the airplane the more stuff, its the smaller the PAYCHECK the more you bring. Close though, and now you can see the correlation with smaller airplanes. I make about $500 a week including per diem. If I ate out 3 times a day, call it $6-7 a meal in an airport thats $20 bucks a day, $80 per 4 day or $100 for a 5-day TDY. I dont know, I personally would rather not spend 20% of my income so I can have quick food while I work. Lugging around a big-ole bag of food filled with stuff from a grocery store probably costs me $20 for 4 days. I rarely ever eat-out while on a trip. Sometimes I feel like I am camping, just in a hotel room or crew lounge instead of a forest.
And I agree, all food bags should be able to carry at least part of your cockpit accessories. Its the modern flight bag to me. Food, IPAD, newspaper or such, headseat, sunglasses, flashlight, etc.
