What most of you don't know about Delta and its jump seat policy is this:

It may seem to basically be un-fair right now, but at one time Delta did not let its pilots jump seat anywhere, except for check rides. Even ALPA JS committee had to fight tooth and nail to get something from Delta in the past.

The Delta tradition and almost a no-cummute policy was the rule for the old school managers.
