I am 30 years old but I'm only giving the whole mainline dream 3 more years, I figure after 3 there will be enough guys hired younger or of my same age hired that my career prospects will not be bright. In my case though I won't be hanging on to the industry at a regional but rather getting a job outside the industry. I can totally see how guys made a career of the regionals, timing and age has made the majors unattractive for alot of guys.
At 33 you're going to give up on mainline? You still have potentially 22 years remaining. I cant even imagine the atmosphere in 5 years with all the projected retirements, economic factors, etc., might as well just walk away now.
