Yes it was! I got a birds eye view of it several times from the Mod 4 arrival.

I was on a fire near Eagle AK in 1993 that burned 5 or 600,000 acres it had some of those 40 and 50 mile fire lines like the Rim Fire did. Impressive to say the least.
