Hey guys! I've been off the forum for a long time. Hope alls well with everyone.
Just a couple of questions for you folks out here flying for skywest. I actually have 1480 hours total time with approximately 1100 hours multi turbine time on ATR 42-500 efis/turboprop time flying right seat part 121. I am very much interested in flying only for Skywest since I honestly feel they are the best regional out there.
However, I would consider waiting, despite knowing that seniority is everything, to apply to Skywest till they start hiring new hires back up on the jets. Don't mean to offend anyone flying the turboprop, as I myself am currently flying a turboprop, but I feel its time for a change, as it took me 3 years to accumulate those 1100 hours on ATR42 so I've been flying her for 3 years now and am ready for a change and to fly the jets, be it bigger like the 175 that Skywest is expecting next year, or the CRJ/ERJ.
I actually need to accumulate jet time in order to look for opportunities in Middle East preferably in a couple of years so getting on with Skywest flying the Bro, wont serve my purpose as I am already flying a turboprop as I mentioned. So please do not associate me to SJS. Its just that my goals in life and career are different and will require me to build jet time.

1. Any idea when jet classes at Skywest are expected? I expect to get my remaining 20 hours to reach the minimums of 1500 hours total time by end of October, so I technically wont be able to apply till then anyway. But just trying to get a heads up from you guys as to how your forecast things with regards to new hires at Skywest.

2. Any clue when the first 175 class can be expected next year?

3. How long on reserve on the CRJ at the moment at the junior bases? and which ones would these be? Anytime I would prefer Denver since my family lives there, but I am guessing that would be very senior. So how long before I could get into Denver?

4. How much are you paid during training? and how long is the training? is accommodation provided and if so, is it single occupancy or double?

5. Does your first year pay begin on day 1 of training and end 1 year from the date you start class or is it from the date of your Line check, etc?

Thanks everyone! Appreciate your feedback!
