And what can possibly go wrong with a system based on an unwritten rule used by some of the the Pilots?
The jump-seat reservation system works pretty good at DAL. It is prioritized going to work, getting home, and lastly for personal use.
It is not perfect, and I can see where senior guys would not like this system, especially if they were under the seniority system their whole career - who wants to change a system just when you are about to receive the benefit of it.
The idea of thinking you have the jump-seat and someone senior showing up at the last minute does not sound that great either.
