Not sure why you quotes me here. I fully understand seniority and DOH. LCAL has your seniority number on the printout when you Re cleared for the J/S. Senority is what is used at BOTH airlines now as illustrated by my example of people hired on the same day showing for the J/S at the same time. The SENIOR pilot would get the seat. DOH is only used at LUAL because it is an easy way to determine Senority. Because of this mess of a merger, that is no-longer possible.
Sorry for quoting you in attempting to make a point. Appears I was wrong anyway in what the problem is regarding jumpseat assignment at UAL v CAL. The new MEC will put out a consistent protocol soon I'm sure.
