Pass travel is much worse. I have been boarded in the back of coach on a pass with economy plus seats open. I'm #2, get my seat, then see the rest of the Space A's who were behind me on the list getting the economy plus because they just went from "back to front". One time I called them and said "Aren't there any exit row seats..." and then she changed my seat.
Plus this "vacation pass" where junior people get to bump senior ones.... They should just call it a "Screw the senior employee pass"
What good is seniority anyway....

I complained about this very thing and was told they were in the process of modifying the seat assignment software. It's been a while but, supposedly, the computer is supposed to assign "better" seats in seniority order (ie EP, exit row, window, aisle, THEN middle).
