Give the guy a break and give him the benefit of the doubt. Spouses and lawyers who use this tactic are the lowest life form and should be careful karma doesn't bite them in the ass down the road. My brother, who is the biggest mush alive, was served divorce papers accusing him of throwing heavy items at his witch with a "b" (I mean wife) and driving dangerously where she feared for her life (and that of their young son). It was all bull crap since she needed an excuse for a divorce. (I guess screwing our cousin wasn't a valid reason in the eyes of the court....)
