Under what bases they asking for concessions anyway? The economy is improving, the price of oil is relatively stable at around $100 a barrel, forecast to go down with increase in nat gas production, pilots now need more experience with the new regulations, there is a shortage of qualified pilots at the regional level, and the real kicker is U.S. Airways is making record profits right now.
Everything points to a pay rise, not the opposite. Its easy for me to say but why would anyone in their right mind even entertain this offer? I would like to see the MEC counter with a 5% pay increase across the board, an increase in per diem, and a decrease in health insurance premiums.
Why should you be forced to work for U.S. airways anyway? Certainly wouldn't be my first choice.
Just my opinion.
Good luck guys.
