There actually is a minimum of 48 hires a year at Mainline. To argue that no pilots will go is simply not valid. Currently we are losing 3 a month to mainline and in 2015/2016 that goes down to only 2. The way that LOA is also written is that when a merger occurs that LOA must be renegotiated with the new company. Thus really we wont even know as of right now if AA will honor such agreement or not.
However as of today Mainline is on goal to have the 3 per month for the year go. If this LOA passes they will be in position to indeed take the 48 in which they are required to per this LOA as well..... Thus this fear mongering of MAINLINE wont take PSA guys seems short sighted. Add to the fact if the SHORTAGE actually happens it will not matter as the doors else where will be wide open for anyone to go anywhere? Isnt that the reason I am suppose to vote this down? Vote it down because the shortage is here?
Who knows what will happen..... I would actually wager to say in the crew room and flying the line this will not pass by some 60/40..... Now that could change. My question is when the next company is up I want some others to tell me that they have PSA in mind and will make certain all PSA pilots lose no money and thus jobs will come in seniority order to their airline as well. I mean everyone else is going to watch out for PSA and AE right?
Also these planes, which if Mesa is getting this UAL order for E175's, I have not clue where they will go. One can only assume GoJets or something else. I personally would be more incline to vote NO if indeed Mesa ever gets announced for these E175s for UAL.
If Mesa gets those I would then agree with the logic unless Gojets flies these there really is no where else to place them except a wholly own of AE or PSA. The company already stated its not PDT as the cost to refleet PDT then takes away from the advantage they get by getting these planes.....
So in reality Mesa gets the 40 E-175's for UAL which seems to be the case. Does Skywest agree to fly CRJ900s for pennies? That doesnt seem to be Jerry's game. That then leaves Gojets?
So what happens if they say. Well we interviewed 20 this month and don't like any of them. And do the same thing next month and the month after? How do you FORCE a compnay to take people?! Don't think so.
As to who will take the planes, who knows. Is that not what all the talks between the regionals MEC's was about?! Not undercutting each other? ALPA national should be ensuring everyone stays in line. Worst case, let Moak not sign any LOA that doesn't fit the new standard. (Is that' what alpa did at think it was Air Midwest, that Mesa had it's talons into?)
As to you wanting someone to tell you. Basically your saying, I'm not willing to do anything that someone else is not willing to do. What do you think it took for the Eagle guys to turn their crap offer down? Do you think that maybe, if two regionals (including limp Dicked PSA turns a crappy offer down, that all the talk amongst the regionals about no whipsaw etc will start to get traction)
I mean really. You've been used as a whipsaw for 10 yrs now. Break the mold.
