This idea of entitlement gets thrown around a lot, let us not forget that every single XJ pilot was told they would get a flow to NW without an interview. So yeah, actually if the XJ pilots were given what they were promised they were 'entitled' to a job.
The only problem with this line of reasoning is that NWA no longer exists. It sucks, sure, but there it is. I was told that I had the last job I would ever have and upgrade in 5/6 years, only to be furloughed 11 months later. If any one actually believes anything management says to them 100%, then they are either fools or clueless to the realities of this industry.
