Meh, airlines hire pilots who really want to work for them. You can show past history by previous applications online to the airline of choice. While you have a point about that 15 year guy above, how would you handle the question of "Do you really want to work for Delta? How come you didn't apply here in the 2010 hiring cycle? 2007 cycle? late 90s cycle?"
A friend of mine got the same question at the SWA interview. He told them he didn't want to apply until his kids were at least into the 2nd grade. He didn't want to miss the younger years. They hired him for his honesty and because he valued his family.
