Nephew at Eagle was given this by one of their union volunteers, he then sent it to me:

Fellow ALPA PSA Pilots,

I am writing to each of you as a member of the American eagle MEC and the Chairman for Council 83 in DFW. Your MEC representatives have just completed debating and voting on a contract proposal that would significantly degrade both your quality of life as well as harm you financially. The american eagle MEC is familiar with the proposal as it is essentially the same proposal peddled to us.

Like you, we also had national officers and an alpa attorney urging us to accept the deal or the airplanes would be given to another company. I understand what your MEC members went through.

USAirways management has fastened themselves rather securly to the Pinacle model as the monicom of of what a pilot group should look like. They have done so without being either willing or able to articulate any logical reason for doing so. I suspect they are using the lure of larger aircraft for one last desparate grab before reality sets in.

I mentioned earlier the negative ramifications of this proposal for each of you at PSA. What I respectfully request that each of you consider are the industry wide ramifications of a yes vote. A yes vote for this proposal will not only harm your workplace but will harm american eagle, express jet, ASA, Skywest and many others.

The American Eagle MEC took a stand with a resounding no. We made a clear statement that the american eagle MEC would not be a party to or assist misguided and short sighted management with the degredation of american eagle careers or the careers of any other alpa brothers and sisters. We did this in contravention to our own MEC leadership and the urgings of alpa national officers and attorneys.

I ask that when you vote that you make the same clear and resounding response. Vote no. Stand with us and we will stand with you.

Respectfully

Val Jester
Chairman LEC 83
American Eagle DFW
