Been there for organizing at other carriers that got shut down or, liquidated after a big vote like this. If management believes it will cost them too much to have PSA operate airplanes they’ll move the offer till they get the deal they want. Then they re-evaluate the situation and if AE or PSA don’t fit into the equation they get sold off piecemeal or reduced in size (just another asset) and held in reserve for the next whipsaw. You guys are nothing but a remove and replace component. It took me about 20 years to get that through my thick skull. Just bear in mind (from what I’ve heard) the deal was designed to induce a flow through to mainline and I’d think you guys would want that. Read the document thoroughly and make up your own mind it’s your career and paycheck! Don’t listen to me or any of the weenies that have to resort insults to make a point.
+1. Read thoroughly, and I can't agree more.... We are a totally disposable component and this opens the door to growth, employment opportunities, and a much bigger PSA. Or it will be eagle, Mesa, or RAH. The whipsaw isn't a movement it's an unfortunate industry called...the regionals. There's no hope. Get over it. I'm interested in hearing everyone's opinion, and am just stunned a post like this is on here and he's not a) tolling and b) he's providing his seasoned opinion. Unlike most of you on here. Wait till Meyers sees this, hahaha.
On a separate note after the trolls on here burn me for +1ing this post, when the heck are we going to upgrade? I'm getting emails about classes starting of 16, 20 people... Yet it's been 8 months. Regardless of this TA I would think we need a class soon of 8-10 ??
Are you a management troll?
All regionals are already having trouble hiring; so you're not disposable... Far from it, you are now a valuable commodity... But they don't want you to know that.
Opens the door for career improvement.... You mean jobs at every mainline company that are on the verge of gigantic mass retirements; so there will be plenty of jobs without even having to get flow thru programs.
They need you more than you need them; but they're afraid to let you know that.
Growth? Read that TA... No guarantee of growth; it's far more likely replacement aircraft... Look at how many years they have to even give you just 1 plane.
Check your concessions on your healthcare while you're at it.
RAH has been without a contract in section six for years. They are refusing to accept a crappy concessionary contract. Eagle, still in bankruptcy, is refusing to accept concessions for more planes. Do the right thing and join the party of regional pilots finally fed up enough to day NO; even when their national union is working for the company to say yes.
The industry dynamics have changed. They can't fill your seats anymore like they could before. The advantage is yours for the first time in decades.
Don't waste it.
