When you're basically the only game in town and there are maybe a million guys looking to go to work for you, you can set whatever standards you so desire. However, just because a person has heavy international experience, doesn't make him or her "better." I've seen guys who couldn't find their ass with both hands (flying internationally), but of course, a prospective employer wouldn't know that.
