Here's an easy fix: if this passes and you didn't vote for it, quit. Then you don't have to worry about it. It's not like somebody is forcing you to work there -- it's not WalMart. Playing one group against another is SOP at Airways. As a wholey owned, they can say "Fine, as of 3/1/14 PSA will cease flight operations." and immediately start transferring airframes to Mesa. They'll do it for less.
Are people are still applying? They have no reason to give in.
You do realize that if PSA gives in they will go to the other regionals asking to beat the pilot cost, and for the non wholly owned, well most of them have clauses to adjust their FFD based on their competitors. Pinnacle taking a hair cut meant that SKW, RAH and EXJ will take a haircut on their Delta FFD compensation. It's not a mistake that United gave Delta flying, expect that contract to have been very underbid by their management and it will likely lead to lower compensation at RAH and SKW.
Mainline management is forcing regional management to zero profits, they in turn will come after their workforce and the wholly owned are going after the pilots. This in turn hurts everyone. We are all connected in a way and when someone takes a cut then a chain reaction is triggered.
US Airways can't go to Mesa or RAH and say either your pilots take these cuts or we will shut you down. After PSA the only airline they could intimidate is AWAC as they operate for US only and their contract IIRC is up in 2 years. Those guys will soon start to see pressure as they only have 50 seater and 2 years on their contract left. But AWAC will see the pressure wether PSA votes yes or no, but if it's a yes vote the pressure will be intensified for AWAC and others.
