While it feels good to congratulate them, realistically I doubt the ARFF had much to do with the high survival rate, and in their rush may have contributed to the death rate unfortunately. They thought the girl was dead and this would be a severe accident.

If I were going to give congratulations, it would be to the fine Boeing structural and materials engineers who made a plane that made this so survivable.
I understand the ARFF were not heroes in this incident and a very unfortunate accident that probably resulted in a death was a result of their actions also.

However, it was probably still kind of handy to have them at the crash site to help and support in controlling and suppressing the fire and helping out at least some of the PAX, don’t ya think?

Unfortunate accidental deaths do occur in many professions. I think a few occur in the medical profession once in awhile, even at the hand of a Dr. sometimes if I am not mistaken, correct?

Careful how you cast those stones is all I am saying.
