If anything, eagle is too big to shut down tomorrow. PSA would be like a fart in the wind if we were to shut down tomorrow. There's plenty of guys to fill our flying. Air whiskey's contract is up in 2015, PDT wouldn't mind a new fleet, and Mesa, republic, and Skywest would say yes in a heartbeat. Regionals is a dying model which will dwindle down on its own. Promoting that the pilots can take a stand at regional level to make a difference is silly. I hoped our MEC would've said no but their stance is to let the pilot group decide, which I can assure you more than half the pilots at eagle wished their MEC did the same. It makes me laugh when some of the eagle guys act all high and mighty that their MEC said no when in secret, they're upset but hey, might as well look good out of this bad situation. And I have many close friends at eagle so I respect their group as much as ours but let's face the reality. By the way I voted no to PSA TA. Wasn't easy decision but I felt like it was the right thing to do. But I understand 100% why someone will vote yes.
Let's backup a second, there were no two ways about it, a concessionary contract was coming to Eagle no matter what due to bankruptcy. Whether it was voted in or imposed by the court via the 1113 term sheet, it was coming. To my knowledge there has never been a labor group within aviation that was in bankruptcy that has not given up at least something that would otherwise be considered concessionary...some more than others.

What the Eagle pilots did NOT do was vote in another concessionary contract AFTER they already signed one.

Why would a pilot group vote for a contract just to turn back a few months later and vote in a worse one is beyond me. PSA is not bankrupt and would be voluntarily accepting a concessionary contract. Apparently any yes voters feel they are over paid and over appreciated, thereby needing lesser pay.

Hopefully the trend will continue if in fact the PSA group votes no and other regional's will fall in line. That is the only hope.
