To the original poster:

I'm sorry you didn't make your flight and I'm sorry for some of the responses that you received on here.

Unfortunately standby status for your flight to interview is more common than most of the posters will have you believe. I have been in this industry for 14 years; I've interviewed at many airlines and have worked at 3. NEVER ONCE was I ever flown to my interview positive space. It was ALWAYS on standby. That being said, if you knew that there were only 2 flights from RSW, I personally would've driven to Miami to have a better chance of getting to the interview and would've told the recruiter to book me that way. I know it doesn't help you but I've driven as far as 275 mi to an airport to get on a flt stdby to my interview.

The point of which is, just like commuting in this business you must plan and think ahead to get yourself where you need to be and when.

Tuck this into your bag of learning experiences, plan ahead next time and hopefully they will contact you for another opportunity.

Good luck with whatever regional you ultimately and up at and enjoy your training!
