The wife plus kid thing is a bit of a rip off because it goes you, you and the missus, then you the missus and the family, so you pay the same for one kid as you do if you had 10 kids.

All regionals are different regarding insurance. You are likely looking at around $450 a month with a $3,000 deductible.

First year take home pay? Do the math. Assuming you sit the first 6 months on reserve at $23 an hour / 75 hour guarantee, that's $10,350. Lets say you average 85 hours a month in your next 6 months you're at $11,730 giving you a total gross income of $22,080. Take off your health insurance, social security, medicare, state and federal tax and you could net yourself around $14,000 big ones. (Less than most mortgages.)

Add a crash pad to the mix (about $3,500 a year) and you might even be left with over ten thousand bucks!

ALPA should offer some kind of financial advice for the guys that simply don't know what to do with all that money!

Now that reminds me, those guys want 2% of your gross income too! You might not get $10,000 after all.

Sorry.
