The top premise is false. If you are under forty, you are good for the whole 12 months. You are good to go.
I was saying the application software doesn't differentiate between age 40. Technically you could be over 40 with an 11 month old class 1 physical and the software will not flush you out of active applications.
Otherwise you are correct, the FAA does differentiate.
