If you have to go tends of thousands in debt, it's already out of reach. Just because someone will loan you money doesn't mean it's "in reach" or a good idea.
There are ways of doing it that don't require borrowing $100k (0 to CFI). Once 1500 hours has been achieved though, a $2500 weekend ticket just became a $10k or more month long process. If the goal posts keep getting moved back, people will all but quit aviation or never even attempt a career.
