After seeing the way they do things at Republic, let let 11 people in the door and offer 1 a job, I don't think I can invest much money travelling around the country on my own dime for regional jobs I'm just not competitive for. I only have a fresh ATP and no 121 time.
SkyWest doesn't care if you have 121 time or not, nor do they care if you're a fresh ATP or 1000 hours over so don’t sweat the stats. They’ll only use your background when it comes to assigning which aircraft you’ll start off in (CFI’s tend to get the Bro, 121s the jet). You need to understand that SkyWest’s interview isn’t set up for you to compete against other applicants for the job; you’re only competing against yourself. SkyWest won’t bring you in if they don’t intend on hiring you so once you have the interview it's truly your job to lose, just focus on studying and be yourself. It's you they're hiring, not your logbook.

When I interviewed I only had 1016 hours (mins were 1000) and was the only CFI in the room, all others were 121 pilots. Out of the 10 of us I was the only one hired. By lunch 7 of them were gone and from what I was told later it was obvious they never prepared and that they expected the job because of their experience. I studied my ass off and was fully prepared; the other 2 who weren’t hired were great guys but failed the ATP written. 6 months later both re-interviewed and were hired.

Again, when you’re at the interview and you see a former/current 121 pilot sitting across from you don’t worry, you’re not competing with him!!!!!
