I wouldn't call it the same. How many 19-50 seat aircraft have flown at mainline carriers before the regionals undercut your flying? I think we both know the answer to that, so I can only assume you mean regionals undercutting your 50+ seat flying. i.e. large RJs. If this is the case, I agree . . . you were undercut. I would also say the cause of this undercutting was the relaxation of your scope. Eagle did not relax any scope or trade any of their flying. They held their ground, and PSA destroyed the message Eagle had sent by not following their example. PSA was not in bankruptcy. They weren't in "dire" straights, Their company was making money. There was no sword to fall on.

Maybe you should have held your ground, and not relaxed scope, and you wouldn't have had to worry about regionals undercutting yourselves. To play devils advocate, yes, regional pilots could just refuse to work for regionals that fly 50+ seat aircraft for less than majors. However, I think its a little more realistic for grown men to realize what scope relaxation would do as opposed to young, naive, kids with debt, trying to start their careers.
