Yeh, I don't know many regional guys who fly on the side...When I was still flying for a living, I NEVER took up a small plane on a recreational or for profit flight...not because I didn't like flying in small planes, I just didn't find the free time, and I wasn't willing to allocate the money (what little I had) towards it.

I've recently started instructing again and am enjoying it. I still wasn't willing to put much money towards recreational flying, so I find a job to do it on the side. I get the joy of instructing every week, and doing a bunch of sight seeing tours in a skyhawk.

It's a great way to spend the few days a week I get out of the office.
