I want to compliment our exCal brother and sister pilots.
Since I am a commuter and because of the crazy ticking policies (we seem to fill up all the seats at the last minute) I have to ride in the cockpit more than I would like to. One of the consistent tings I see from exCAL Captains is they almost always come out and make sure the jump seaters are taken care of by the PAs. Quite frankly my fellow exUAL (of which I am one) pilots don't seem to follow the same voluntary procedures.
Why a difference between exCAL and exUAL? As a senior Captain from UAL maybe it was the culture of "sending the JS to the airplane and let the Captain sort it out" we had for so many years is the reason we (exUAL) don't check with the PA like exCAL.
No matter what the reason I like how they (exCAL Captains) make sure I get on. Two thumbs up!
