I've been looking at the Air Guard much more seriously recently but this obviously that is something I would join for much different reasons than to just build time. What are your oppinions on time builders that the airlines like to see. I know instructing has got to be pretty high on the list, but with the new ATP req's, I dont see myself getting anywhere near some of those hour requirments before Im halfway to 30(xc, multi, etc.) I've heard of aerial surveying, any thoughts or pointers on that? Anything would really be great.

Thanks in advance.
The airlines don't care how you build your time as long as you have ATP minimums. They also don't care what your degree is in as long as you have one. The only way you'll get a leg up with an airline is by having prior 121 or military experience. If you don't have either of those things then it really doesn't matter how you build time.
