If you want to look at his 2010 position it was 3704/4786=77.39%. Now if you look at that vs. the SLI he gained less than 1% BUT (and I'm talking J-Lo BUT) he lost all the relative seniority he gained over the last 3 years as if everyone who had retired or hired below him in that time never happened. That is why so many of us are upset.
Are you happy with what you got Todd?
I know this is a beaten horse, but I feel compelled to address a couple of things.
First - It appears that what is REALLY disturbing you (and apparently others) is the arbitrators decision to use Oct 2010 as the snapshot date for Status and Category. IMO, you should never have expected otherwise -- this is the primary area where your leadership set you up for heartache.
Second, LOTS of the improvement you've seen in your relative seniority over the past three years was due to the UAL pilots that came in the bottom of the CAL seniority list. Everyone knew this was a temporary placement and that those pilots would eventually move to the seniority positions in the ISL. You should not consider the effect of their movement on your 'relative seniority' change post ISL.
As I see it, the decision to delay the ISL until after completion of the JCBA has resulted in MUCH distress post ISL. I understand that it's hard to 'pretend' that the advancement you experienced over the past three years never happened, but that is what you must do if you wish to truly wrap your cranium around this thing.
I've already stated that I understand your viewpoint, so can you understand mine? I see the advancement you've experienced over the past three years as a 'good deal' (or a loan if you will...) to your group. Pretend the ISL process had begun in 2010 and the award was delivered nearly three years ago. Fast forward to today and the list would look exactly as it does now, but may have had a JCBA sooner and a lot of LCAL pilots would've never been awarded the bids they have now. Even with no JCBA (thus no ISL implementation) you would've known exactly where you would be on the list and you would've KNOWN at the time that you were bidding out of seniority.
There is much bitterness on BOTH sides but we really need to put it aside and focus on our future SUCCESS.
