This is hardly a fair comparison to someone who went to Podunk community college and got a perfect 4.0 because classes there are super easy. In high school I had a 3.95 graduating GPA with a SAT score of 1350 (back when max was 1600) but I chose to attend a top notch engineering program and ended up barely 3.0 graduating.
Class ranking should be a better metric.
I claimed I was in the top 90% of my class, they probably missed the implication!
