If I need to get up for what ever reason.. eat something, stretch my legs, take a dump, etc... I simply get up, open the cockpit door and do it.. No F/A's to contact and coordinate security and food carts with, no pax to stare at you as you walk out of the cockpit as though the airplane is going to fall out of the sky when you're not in the seat strapped in..
That alone makes it worth it.. On a long leg, you can slap on some comfy sweats and take a nap and not ever worry about anyone seeing you..
It would be hard for me to go back to pax..
