Continental
Continental recently indicated they intend to grow capacity by almost 8 percent this year (2006). That would require roughly 300 pilots to accomadate that growth plus retirements which are projected to be 200 to 300 per year for the forseeable future. Hiring is projected to continue for the rest of this year and most likely well into next and perhaps beyond. Of course, world events, escalating oil prices or another terrorist attack could change this demand. I have heard or seen no indications that things will slow down anytime soon in the training department. In fact, they are actively recruiting pilots for training positions as we speak. I am not a fortune teller by any means, but barring any unexpected events, hiring should continue for several years. That's my guess!
