As a matter of fact, the young guys getting displaced out of LA end up in SLC.
Buzz, I'm in the middle of SLC/LAX (LAS) and a BIG downside to commuting to SLC is the lack of flexibility due to the time change - you can't make ANY early reports in SLC due to changing from PST to MST. I have been based at SLC before and quite frankly the weather in LAX means you rarely have a problem getting into LAX and the time change and additional commute time (LAX is 42 minutes, SLC is 1+20), less frequency (at least from LAS) and the time change means that any small bump in seniority is quickly overridden by the down sides I mentioned.
