It's different. You must specifically list for first vs economy as first costs more per leg. Btw, the fee isn't new.
It's the same for ual mainline to get first. Must specifically list for it. Upgrades are not automatic like delta.
Yes but currently RAH is the ONLY UAL Express carrier that has to pay by leg to fly. Everyone else including Commutair pays a yearly fee for themselves and passriders which allows unlimited coach. We have to pay $20 per flight domestic and $50 per flight + taxes international. Domestic first costs more on top of the $20 and International first costs A LOT on top of the $50.
By comparison on Delta I took my family business class round trip from JFK to Tokyo and I paid taxes only ($38 a person). Same trip on UA out of ORD in business was ($50+50+$230 a person)... So UA travel is horrible at RAH.
