This applies to Kalitta Charters II. 45,000 is base salary plus load pay which is 200 dollars per load/unload. I average 3 to 5 load pays a month. Schedule for DC9 crews is 9 days on 9 days off. Overtime pay is 2.5 hours or actual flight time and is paid above guarantee. DC9 crews do not get to use the condos and are responsible for their own crash pad. Our DC9's are very well taken care of and Doug Kalitta is a really good guy to work for. He takes care of his people. Unfortunately, we just hired two new FO's for the new aircraft that came online and there is very little movement on the 9.
What is load pay or load/unload pay??? Is it that they have the flight crew load and unload the airplane with cargo, as in, lifting and moving and tying cargo down???
what is upgrade time from fo to capt on either the 9 or the 72??
Does the airline furlough much if so how long do the furloughs usally last??
Can one expect a furlough after the christmass rush if you are a new guy?
And lastly, if furloughed would you be offered a job flying one of the lears on the charters one side??
Also how much overtime can you get amonth?? I know it depends on seniority but is there OT to be had by new guys??
