For some guys, Atlas is a GREAT career. When they started though, it wouldn't really rate that good. Similar to Gemini and Polar and when it was separate, the QOL could be atrocious back then. But then again, the companies aren't that old in comparison to established legacies and are going through a "catch up" period so to speak.

And keep in mind, the time away from home ISN'T the same for ALL the pilots there. A legacy contract may say that min days off is 12-13 days off per month. Doesn't mean EVERY pilot ONLY gets that many days off. Many are able to break up/split their patterns. Many DON'T spend their FULL 17 days a month away from home. Etc. World wasn't too bad of job either.

But all this is apples to oranges. An ACMI carrier simply isn't a legacy. Hence the differences. Differences that MANY pilots can make work to their advantage.
