Yes, I would say it is rare. Guard fighter guys don't usually do 6 month deployments unless their unit is activated under title 10 authority.

For any fighter unit, that's a lot of flying. Almost 20 hours per week for 6 months is a pretty heavy schedule. 3 x 6+ hour AOR sorties each week or almost daily sorties of 3-4 hours doesn't seem like a sustainable schedule, in my opinion. It could be done, but I think it would be rare.
