I've talked a lot about this, so one more comment then I'll shut up.
Foreverfo-Do you guys have access to wifi for weather on yours? I've heard that we won't. Does any airline? My brother in law is a corporate pilot and what they have is amazing.
"Legal" access - no. But the hardware works, and I have flown with guys that do use it extensively, thinking "They (management) don't care and probably can't even tell." But here's the problem...
About a year ago, I flew with a CKA who was one of the leaders in the iPad program. I asked him about WiFi. What he said -
and this applies only to AA:
"You are not authorized to use the internet on the flight deck, for now. But spread the word... Management can and does connect GoGo (WiFi) usage to cockpit personnel. Right now, they aren't doing anything about it, but if they decide they don't like you, or there is a problem,
it becomes ammunition at the hearing."
FWIW. Cannot wait to get rid of current AMR managers.
