I agree that something can be learned from every mishap.
In this case, it is don't fly MRAP's tethered to the floor. That's not happening anymore as far as I know, the decision was made to scrap them instead. The pilot's were in a situation that was unrecoverable, I don't see the benefit in watching them fly to their deaths.
