If your seniority can hold it--and there are surpluses in your desired base or you are displaced from your current base--you can bid into the same equipment at a different base.
Look at the seat lock like a training contract (with certain exceptions). You can move to any base with that aircraft if you are seat locked without adding anything to the seat lock.
To be clear, if you are displaced, you can go to any category your seniority can hold and you would not be subject to a category freeze.
