Imagine the conversation between the pilot and the CP.

Pilot:"Hello JFK CP"

CP: "Yes"

Pilot: "Im calling to inform you of my two weeks notice"

CP: "um...ok. Did you sign the PEA?

Pilot: "Yes, why?"

CP: "Well are you leaving for another airline affiliated with the one you left?"

Pilot: "Well yes, but, they weren't when I was hired on."

CP: "Sorry pal. We, I mean, Jetblue is going to have to come after you for the training costs. You did sign the PEA."

Pilot: "How much is that going to be? It wasn't specified in the PEA."

CP: "Well since there has been a lot of attrition and we need pilots I think the cost will be pretty high."

Intimidation is the key to getting employees to respond at Jetblue. Imagine the productivity if management still treated pilots the way they did 10 years a go.
