About a year ago, Airbus was said to be touting "Standing Seats" to Asian carriers so they can pack more people into each flight. Remember this picture from the NY Times? Has anyone heard of any new developments? If freight companies pack their boxes in, why not passengers?
Personally, if the flight was less than an hour, I would stand up if it meant I get to my destination when I want to get there with the minimum of fuss.
