Here's the deal, and I think we can all agree no matter our stance on union issues. They company stated one of their cornerstones was to attract new pilots, yet they put out a new PEA with a fuzzy language training contract ( let's call it what it is) and a pay cut for first year FOs. There's no way to spin that first years aren't getting anything but. How this is supposed to attract quality talent is WAAAY beyond me. I've already heard a LOT of guys saying they were waiting on the hiring window to open saying they're going to pass in light of this new PEA. With the attrition stated on the call yesterday, it's very likely a guy hired in the next several months would be getting above 78 hours and be off reserve. He's now going to be making less than he/she would have been this time last year. How we're supposed to beat out Delta, American and United with questionable language and cutting first year pay is a mystery to me. Maybe they plan on dazzling them with growth plans and moving target upgrade forecasts. Although, I learned a loooong time ago not to go chasing an upgrade.
