If you know your American history, then you would know the C-word has the same negative euphemism as the N-word. They are both use as a disparaging description of a person race. Whites calling a Black person the N-word and Blacks calling a white person the C-word.
Much like the N-word, Cracker can be a relational self-description or a dire insult.
People in the African-American community typically use the N-word losely to describe a relationship they share amongst each, therefore no offense is taken between each other. But it is ill-advise for a white person to use such a word, less he wants to find himself in a less desirable predicament. White people are offended if a African-Americans person labels him the "C-word" because it is term used during slavery time to describe a Southern Slave Owner "cracking" his whip at the slaves.
As for the word Ghetto, which I left out purposely only to highlight the more offensive rasict term "Cracker" you used in your statement, describes an housing area in which poor conditions exist. Any racial group can and do live in such conditions. The term "Ghetto" was originally used in Venice to describe the part of a city to which Jews were restricted and segregated.
I can go on and on in educating you about race relationship, but as a white person as you proclaim, clearly won't help if you don't educate yourself about offensive language use to disparage another racial demographic.
As a African American, I detests anyone using the N-word or any other word to disparage another race. It is flat-out wrong and has no place in a civilized society!

I noticed you didn't call them a bunch of idiot redneck racists for it, but you called him (white person) one for not being offended when a white person said the word cracker.
