It was really more of just a comment about the many things we apps have to be concerned that they're looking at these days. The many boxes to check to ensure our app moves toward the top.
If it's any consolation, I was 26 and single when hired at DL, and everyone I interviewed with asked me why. The HR guy, the Shrink, both CP's. The answer I gave them was the truth; I had a steady girlfriend of several years, but I was waiting until I had a steady job too, in case I had to relocate to the other side of the country and she didn't want to come, and then I finished with, "But if I get the job, I guess I won't be able to use that excuse any more, and I'm going to have to marry her..."
That got a chuckle out of all of them.
When I got home, I heard from one of the DL Pilots I had listed as a reference on my app. He said the HR guy called him and talked to him for 45 minutes, and he asked him why I was single, and did I have a problem with women...
I said, "So what did you tell him??"
He said, "I told him you were gay."
