Swap with the pot is just that, you swap one of your trips with the trip in the pot. A white slip is a straight pick up. You pick up a trip in addition to whats on your line.
White slips are processed before swap with the pot. The processing times are published in the contract. (I don't remember the exact times) Nothing is right away.
