Are you new? It's been that way in every profession since day one. Even the military makes inequitable allowances (BAH for dependents vs without) for that kind of social engineering.
Good point, get the wife to prove one is socially competent and prove that at least SOMEBODY can put up with them.
THEN get the job and become the stereotype I referenced earlier , on the THIRD failing marriage and kids that won't talk to them and crew members slam click them. Because they're socially deficient
