Others like Southwest are starting to adjust fire (just lowered their minimums from 1300 PIC to 1000 PIC) to compensate. Lets not forget that minimums are not exactly what competitive hiring times are. In addition as far as I know SWA still wants a type, letters of recommendation from sitting captains and that 1000 PIC should be in at least in 121 RJ to be competitive. Those are still pretty tall orders.
Ten years ago 500 hours of turbine SIC in anything was the bar. Now a 1000 hours of turbine 121 PIC only gives you the right to fill out an application.
