The pay at the other airlines listed may be comparable...but I've never commuted to work without a revenue ticket in hand.

If new equipment arrives (!!) and lots of 744 folks want to move to a new type, there may be situations where they may need to backfill the 744/8, and positions will become available...plus I believe they cannot keep you from a higher paying aircraft (in the case of a new equipment award).
That said, it may also be a situation where (as DC8 mentioned, I believe) that you may be pay-protected if you are held back from bidding a higher paying fleet...but right now we don't have that in the current CBA, so it may have to be an LOA/MOU.
